E-Learning at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute
LCI will be hosting online E-Learning opportunities for students in Grade 9 to Grade 12 for the 2021/2022 school year. Our E-Learning model will include synchronous learning in which students are part of a virtual classroom with direct daily interactions with their teachers. LCI is looking for students who are self-motivated and highly-engaged learners who still want to belong to a school community and have course content delivered to them by a teacher who is a specialist in their field.
In addition to that, LCI will endeavour to create flexibility that will allow our E-Learners to blend their online academic classes with on-campus CTS courses, on-campus Fine Arts courses, off-campus work experience opportunities, off-campus registered apprenticeship placements or an off-campus green certificate experience. LCI will also welcome its E-Learners to participate in the breadth of extra-curricular opportunities it plays host too such as athletic teams, fine arts productions or other extracurricular clubs.
Because our E-Learners will be assigned to virtual classroom, there will be a limited number of spots available. Students will need to apply to be part of the E-Learning program at LCI. All families must agree to a strict set of criteria at the time of their application.
High school E-Learning will be designed so that courses can be selected. This will provide high school students with the flexibility to be full-time E-Learning students or to blend E-Learning with in-school learning.
